New York defeats San Antonio 4–1 • Brunson Finals MVP
Season over — New York’s first championship since 1973
Jalen Brunson scored 45 points Saturday and the Knicks rallied from seven down after three quarters to close out San Antonio in five games. The 53-year wait is over. Brunson, who rolled his left ankle and played through it, is the Finals MVP. New York’s first title since 1973 — and the city knows it.

Brandon Bussi stopped all 22 shots and Carolina blanked Vegas 3–0 in Game 6 Sunday to win the franchise’s second Stanley Cup, 20 years after its first. Captain Jordan Staal, 37, took the Conn Smythe — the oldest player ever to win it — with six goals in the Final.
